yeah

phenomenal ideas in this mix, good stuff

BeyondOurEyes responds:

Thank you so much, glad you dig it!

good mix down, i sense a lack of side chain which actually isnt a problem until moments like 1:22 where all sound is cut for the snare and then the snare gets muffled by the synths. the square lead that comes in 00:48 is a weird one, it doesnt share the same room as anything else in the mix, which is probably a product of how loud it is. it has a resonant frequency that destroys the mix whenever it hits but other than that, pretty good chip tuney track. the bass is nice and crunchy with a nice distorted saw layer.

Thank you for your feedback! I will try to keep these problems in mind when making music in the future!

nice mix down, everything stands out when it needs to and everything else meshes together nicely and the drums are king of the mix as they should be. some sounds are smeared from the sound design phase like the mid bass that arps/gates but nothing too serious. snap that starts at 3:05 at the end is pretty loud and the tempo slide down makes the snap sample artifact pretty bad. some higher end synhs/melodies would be cool but overall good video game tune

Orenge1 responds:

Wow! Very thought out superb review! Yeah I work with what I have at the moment, the synths I use are very very far from "high end" lol. Yeah I might've half assed this a bit with the melodies, but you live and you learn.

I might in the future try to make a song which is isn't made from preset sounds from synths and try to make my own non preset sounds with a different synth maybe.

But yet again, thanks overall for the review! I really appreciate it! :)

jet set funkin

my only gripe is that the transition from super bright and energetic synths/drums could have been a little bit smoother into the dimmer sections at 1:10 but super banger good shit

that's a front page request

edit: at 2:31 ish i hear some clicking - if you rendered some sounds to audio to save CPU/resampled etc i'd recommend setting just a tiny millisecond of volume fade in/attack just so the sound starts on the zero crossing to avoid clicking

Those are high hats don't worry.

yeah this is pretty sick. really clean for how smashed the wave form is - however the kick does clip really hard when it hits at the lower part of this phrase at 2:50 however on the phrases with higher notes in the bass range (aka whenever the mix isn't as occupied somewhere around 150-400hz) it doesn't clip, another prime example of this is in the intro when the chords and everything are flanging and phasing around. I'd write it of as a stylistic choice if it clipped consistently. You can usually fix this by a little bit of multiband compression on the master and just slightly kissing that frequency range with the compressor until it stops clipping whenever the kick hits when that range is particularly busy. Other wise, this fucks pretty hard. Artistically criticizing it, could have a better outro.
